It can take up to 10 years for cigarette butts to entirely break down. Since a lot of cigarette buds were found during the first trash walk, we will request more smoking stands to the board. These cigarette butts may also come from other KUL labs, so we will look for a strategy to deal with this.
Currently, at the Rega Institute, we only have two stations to discard your cigarette butt:
Meanwhile, a tip for smokers: bring a plastic bottle with a little bit of water in, so when you go for a walk and smoke, you can drop your butts in the plastic bottle 😊
